The Effect of Private and Public Health Expenditure on Economic Growth in Sub-Saharan Africa

This study examined the relationship between health expenditure and economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa. The General Method of Moments (GMM) estimation technique was used data covered period 2000-2019 for forty-six countries. results difference GMM-1 GMM-2 steps indicate that a 1% change public per capita (LPUHE_PC) is associated with 0.1362% 0.1521% rise GDP (GDP_PC) short run. system percentage LPUHE_PC respective 0.0148% 0.0109% GDP_PC run at level significance, on average ceteris paribus. In long run, step indicates has larger positive effect (1.34899%) than short-run (0.1521%). result (0.39967% 0.24135%) (0.0148% 0.0109%) respectively. analysis government spending will stimulate Sub-Saharan Thus, should increase budgetary allocations.
